Legislative And Regulatory Advocacy

Promoting and defending credit unions at the Federal and State level is the goal of CUNA’s overall advocacy efforts. From the halls of Congress to the Treasury Department, from the White House to the State House, from NCUA to the CFPB and every other agency, and in every state capitol, the CUNA-League system is monitoring issues impacting credit union operations and defending credit unions on a daily basis. Whether it’s federal or state legislation, or state or federal regulatory initiatives, the CUNA-League staff are committed to the philosophical and historical nature of our service to consumers, and working to educate lawmakers and regulators to preserve, protect and enhance the credit union charter.
