September 18, 2002
Representative Richard K. Armey
U.S. House of Representatives
H-327 A The Capitol
Washington, D.C. 20515
Dear Majority Leader Armey:
On behalf of the nation's 82 million credit union members and the nearly 10,000 credit union members of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), I sincerely applaud your outstanding leadership and efforts to help pass the conference report to H.R. 333, the bankruptcy abuse reform act.
CUNA and our credit union members have been strong supporters of this important legislation from its inception and we continue to generate significant grassroots support for its passage. We have also conducted extensive survey research and run many media ads in support of the bill.
We are confident you will continue your efforts and urge you to find creative ways in your attempt to resolve the remaining differences have prevented the conference report from being voted on the House floor.
Again, I offer our sincerest appreciation for your efforts and pledge our continuing support to try to pass H.R. 333 before Congress adjourns for the elections.
