Wisconsin league president elected AACUL chairman
NAPLES, Fla. (11/16/09)--The American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL) elected its executive board and officers during its annual meeting held Thursday through Saturday in Naples, Fla. They are:
* Chairman, Brett Thompson, president/CEO of the Wisconsin Credit Union League; * First vice chairman, Bill Mellin, president/CEO of the Credit Union Association of New York; * Second vice chairman, Wendell Lyons, president/CEO of the Kentucky Credit Union League; * Treasurer, Bill Cheney, president/CEO of the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues; and * Secretary, Tracie Kenyon, president/CEO of the Montana Credit Union Network.
Thompson, formerly the first vice chairman of ACCUL, said of his election, "Leagues and credit unions have a full plate of challenges and opportunities--economic, legislative and regulatory among them. I look forward to addressing them as AACUL chair. "Our goal, as always, is to work collaboratively to best position leagues as a powerful and innovative resource and advocate for our member CUs." Also serving on the board in ex-officio capacity are Rosie Holub, immediate past chairman and president/CEO of the Missouri Credit Union Association, and Susan Newton, executive director of AACUL.
