Madison, Wis. (1/9/13) - Today, CUNA announced a new CUNA Payments Roundtable in conjunction with the CUNA Technology Council. Details and registration for the roundtable, set to take place May 5-6, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV, are available at training.cuna.org/payments.
The CUNA Payments Roundtable was developed to provide attendees with an in-depth look at the future of payments systems, but also to take the next step and allow a forum for participants to shape the future through discussions with their peers and industry experts. Speakers from the payments industry will present differing perspectives on payments systems and offer their insider advice on the best way credit unions can stay prepared for upcoming twists and turns.
"This roundtable will act as more of a meeting of the minds than a conference or school," explained James Carrick, Associate Vice President of CPD Learning Events at CUNA. "The up-in-the-air nature of today's payments industry is such that credit unions will benefit most from putting our heads together and planning for the future, rather than waiting for the updates to come to us."
Intended to turn attendees into the experts their credit unions need, this roundtable will act as a central hub of resources and action related to emerging payments systems. With an emphasis on keeping its content up-to-date, the roundtable's high-participation presentations and panels will be followed by facilitated discussions to make sure all the topics are covered, current and accurate. These discussions will directly affect the direction payments take for credit unions in 2014.
Roundtable presentations and discussion topics will include:
• The Six Things that Will Change the Future of Payments
• The Rapidly Evolving Mobile Payment Landscape
• Bitcoin: What it is and why it's gaining interest
• And more
