In this month’s program, Senior Economist Mike Schenk tackles two broad topics. First, he looks at recent macroeconomic activity and explores what recent developments mean for the economy in general as well as for credit unions in particular. Second, Schenk digs into recently released NCUA call report data for the first quarter revealing a continuation of the trends and broad themes from 2012. He claims to reveal nothing “eye-popping” in the results, but affirms that the recovery is still inching along, continuing to be a long, slow affair…that seems ultimately sustainable.
