This course provides an overview of Regulation C – Home Mortgage Disclosure Act. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's Regulation C outlines what lenders must do to stay in compliance with the requirements of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act of 1975 (HMDA). Congress passed HMDA to eliminate "redlining" and other illegal practices that sometimes contributed to the decline of certain geographic areas by failing to provide adequate home financing to qualified applicants. This course will review the background and coverage of Regulation C, compiling loan data, the HMDA loan application register (LAR) and submitting the HMDA report.
