Bill Klewin
Bill is director, Regulatory Compliance in the Lending Solutions area of the CUNA Mutual Group in Madison, Wisconsin. In that role, he is responsible for consumer regulatory compliance for LOANLINER, loanliner.com, and other products. Bill is nationally known for his expertise in consumer lending and operations. He is recognized as the nation's expert on open-end multi-featured lending. He has spoken at numerous conferences focusing on credit union and financial institution issues, was a main teacher in a team chosen by the NCUA to train state and federal examiners in consumer lending, and is a regular contributor and columnist in various publications on lending related issues.
Bill joined CUNA Mutual in 1986 as assistant counsel and has held various positions in CUNA Mutual's Legal Department and business areas. Before joining CUNA Mutual, Bill maintained a private practice, concentrating on commercial and business law.
He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin in 1978 with a BA in History and received his Juris Doctor in 1981. He is a member of both the Wisconsin and American Bar Associations. Bill served for 11 years on the board of directors of a Madison based credit union, including two years as chair of the board. The CUNA Mutual Group is headquartered at the Credit Union Center in Madison, Wisconsin, and provides insurance and financial services to credit unions and their members throughout the world.
David Reed
Attorney, author, consultant and nationally recognized speaker, David is a partner in the law firm of Reed and Jolly, PLLC and founder of CU Doctor, a full service credit union consulting practice. Through Reed and Jolly, David provides guidance to credit unions concerning a variety of matters including the establishment and revision of credit union policies and procedures, organizational compliance, collections, security, contractual agreements, regulatory matters and corporate governance.
David is particularly noted as an expert in the areas of credit union operations, bankruptcy and collections. He has been selected to train NCUA Field Examination and Audit Staff on numerous issues including ID Theft Red Flags, S.A.F.E Act, Third Party Contract Management and Bankruptcy matters.
Teri Stomski
Teri is special counsel at Rogers Townsend Law firm and specializes in Business Banking & Professional Practices. Teri concentrates her practice in commercial real estate transactions and banking and finance. In addition to her background as a real estate transactions and litigation attorney, she is also the former state counsel for a national title insurance company, as well as a former commercial lender. Teri utilizes her expansive knowledge of banking and title insurance to assist her clients in minimizing risk. Teri is an Adjunct Professor at the USC School of Law, teaching Real Estate Transactions II, and is a frequent lecturer and contributing author for continuing legal education seminars relating to real estate law and title insurance for the South Carolina Bar and Palmetto Land Title Association, among others.
Andrea Stritzke, CUCE
As vice president of Regulatory Compliance for PolicyWorks, Andrea is responsible for the delivery of PolicyWorks' regulatory services and new product development while also working with individual credit unions to provide them with training and counsel on certain regulatory matters. In addition, Andrea assists credit unions with strategic compliance program management and is a nationally recognized speaker on credit union compliance issues. Prior to joining PolicyWorks, Andrea worked as a judicial clerk for the Iowa Court of Appeals.
Barry Thompson
Barry has worked in the financial services industry for over three decades, holding the positions of security officer, compliance officer, treasurer, senior vice president and executive vice president. He is the only fraud educator in our industry who has worked in senior management positions, which affords him unique insight into financial institutions.
During his career, Barry has handled over 900 security cases. He has been involved with investigations and prosecutions on the federal, state and local levels, and has testified before grand juries, county courts, bankruptcy courts, family courts and the New York State Supreme Court.
Barry is also an internationally-recognized speaker who has appeared at many financial industry conferences. He has made presentations on communications, leadership, compliance and financial institution security - including presentations in Brussels to European bankers on internal fraud, at the United Nations on identity theft and to Japanese bankers on bank security.
Recognizing the increasing importance of compliance in the financial industry, he became a "Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager" in 1997. Barry's professional and educational background, along with his "Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager" designation, provide him with a depth of experience that very few in the financial services industry can match.
