Miriam De Dios
As CEO, Miriam promotes Coopera's approach to serving Hispanics throughout the credit union industry. This comprehensive approach has helped credit unions and credit union industry organizations position themselves for long-term growth by serving Hispanics. The idea of a "double bottom line," where sustainable growth strategies are synonymous with social value is central to Coopera's mission of partnering with people, businesses and communities.
Miriam has significant experience working in the financial services industry, having worked with State Farm Insurance Companies and John Deere Credit. Miriam is a member of the national Network of Latino Credit Unions and Professionals and the World Council of Credit Union's Global Leadership Network. She serves on the board of directors for various local non-profit organizations, including the Iowa International Center, Hispanic Educational Resources and Latinas para Un Nuevo Amanecer. Miriam also serves on the Leadership Committee of the Des Moines New Leaders Council, the Latino Forum of the Urban Core Financial Services Task Force and is a past board member of Des Moines's ALIANZA Latino Business Association. She is a 2010-2011 Leadership Iowa class graduate and a Des Moines New Leaders Council fellow. Miriam also teaches English as a Second Language classes to first generation immigrants as an Adjunct Professor for Des Moines Area Community College. She graduated with honors from Iowa State University and resides in Des Moines, Iowa.
Dale joined Ascentra Credit Union of Bettendorf, Iowa in August 1999 and is the president and CEO. Before becoming president in September of 2013, he worked as EVP, chief lending officer. A self-proclaimed “reformed banker” Dale began his career in 1988 working in various positions for the former First National Bank of Moline. He has also worked as branch manager for the former Brenton Bank, Davenport, home equity manager and assistant cashier at the former Bank One Quad Cities, Moline, and mortgage loan representative for Marquette Bank, Galesburg.
Dale is actively involved in the community serving on the board of directors for the Iowa Credit Union League, Community Business Lenders, LC, Augustana College Alumni, Bettendorf Business Network, Quad City DollarWise and serves as president of the Iowa Credit Union Foundation. Additionally he currently serves on the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) MPF National Advisory Council. He has served on the CMGMI National Insight Panel, Iowa Credit Union League Payday Lending Task Force, past president and board member of the Great River Chapter of Credit Unions, past treasurer and board member of the Davenport Neighborhood Housing Service and past board member for the Quad City Credit Association. His awards and recognition include the National Lending Award presented by CUNA, Iowa Credit Union League's Cooperative Spirit Award, and QC Mayor's DollarWise Outstanding Professional Contribution Award.
Arna is the president/CEO of Amarillo Community Federal Credit Union in Amarillo, Texas having served in that capacity since 2005. An ardent supporter of financial education, she received an appointment to the Texas Credit Union Foundation Board of Trustees in 2007 and currently serves as chairman. She received her MBA from Wayland Baptist University and her marketing degree from Iowa State University.
