Ryan Donovan
Ryan Donovan joined the Credit Union National Association as vice president - legislative affairs in September 2007, and was promoted to senior vice president in September 2011.
Combining his experiences as a congressional staff member and credit union league employee, Donovan is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the activities of CUNA's lobbying team which represents the interests of the credit union movement before both houses of Congress. He was responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive lobbying strategy that resulted in significant improvements to the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Financial Protection Act, mitigating the adverse impact of the most burdensome provisions of the bill on credit unions.
Colleen Kelly
Colleen is the federal compliance counsel in CUNA's Regulatory Affairs Department. She analyzes regulations to determine their impact on the operations of credit unions and provides compliance information to credit unions through CUNA's CompBlog, NewsNow, eGuide to Federal Laws and Regulations, Credit Union Magazine, and other resources. She works closely with CUNA's Center for Professional Development to provide educational products and programs to support credit unions' compliance efforts, and provides support to CUNA's lobbyists on consumer legislation.
Valerie Moss
Valerie is director of compliance information for CUNA Regulatory Affairs in the Washington, DC office. In this position, Valerie is responsible for writing articles on various compliance issues of interest to credit unions, maintaining CUNA's e-Guide to Federal Laws and Regulations, and responding to credit unions' compliance inquiries. In addition to these duties, Ms. Moss assists CUNA's Political Affairs Department and the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC) in complying with Federal Election Commission regulations.
Kathy Thompson
Kathy is senior vice president of compliance and legislative affairs for the Credit Union National Association. For almost 30 years, she has represented credit unions before the National Credit Union Administration, the Federal Reserve Board, the Treasury Department, the Federal Trade Commission and other federal agencies. She is currently focusing her efforts on increasing CUNA's compliance information to leagues and credit unions, and on providing assistance in the drafting of legislation and the preparation of testimony for Congress.
Jared Ihrig
Jared is senior assistant general counsel in Credit Union National Association's (CUNA) Regulatory Advocacy department. He is currently focusing his efforts on consumer protection regulations and developments, and follows the activities of the Federal Reserve Board, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, NCUA and other agencies in this context. Jared also monitors mortgage lending legal and regulatory issues as they relate to the area of consumer protection, and the potential impact to credit union lending and operation functions. Jared serves as the primary staff liaison to CUNA's Consumer Protection Subcommittee.
Mary Dunn
Mary is the senior vice president and deputy general counsel in the Credit Union National Association's (CUNA) Washington, D.C., offices. She represents credit union interests before the National Credit Union Administration, the Federal Reserve Board, and other federal agencies. Additionally, Mary writes a bimonthly column for CUNA's Credit Union Magazine and oversees the production of CUNA's RegWatch and regulatory analyses on all proposed and final regulations affecting credit unions, as well as Operation Comment, CUNA's Web site to facilitate comments from the credit union community to regulators.
Dennis Tsang
Dennis is regulatory counsel for Credit Union National Association in Washington, DC, where he works on financial regulatory and legal research matters. He is also a liaison to the CUNA Payments Policy Subcommittee. Prior to joining CUNA, Dennis worked at the Federal Reserve Board on financial, regulatory, technology issues.
