In this month's installment, CUNA Vice President of Economics & Statistics Mike Schenk addresses three topics. First, the recent release of NCUA Call Report data, where there were no "eye-popping" developments but we do see a continuation of the mostly favorable results we've been reporting over the first three quarters of 2012. That's good news for credit unions. Second, Schenk will address what happened (or didn't happen) in Washington recently regarding sequestration and what it means from a broad economic perspective, what it may mean for labor markets, and by extension what it means for credit unions and their members in 2013. Finally, he'll review one of the more important topics addressed at CUNA's recent Governmental Affairs Conference - the legislative change that CUNA is pursuing in the form of charter enhancement and capital reform.
