Dear Home & Family Finance Resource Center Subscriber:

New Home & Family Finance® Resource Center Launched
The redesigned Home & Family Finance® Resource Center is now up. If you haven’t noticed, it’s on your credit union’s Web site and ready for your members to use.

We hope you and your members enjoy it. If you have any questions, please contact Barb Bender at 800-356-9655, ext. 4090.

Guides to Independence

Visit http://buy.cuna.org/static/guides_freemodule.html to check it out

That's a "which came first?" question in the Guides to Independence course now offered free on CUNA's consumer Web site, www.creditunion.coop. This 12-minute program teaches 9-12th graders the difference between banks and credit unions, how credit unions got started, and the advantages of membership. It's quick, fun, and easy to complete. Take it yourself to learn whether or not people were already eating potato chips when credit unions opened. (We designed it for teens, but found that adults enjoy it, too!)

Find Out What to Keep and What to Throw Away
It’s unbelievable that each day, the typical family receives five to 10 important items related to school, finances, social events, or work. That easily translates into 50 items a week or 2,500 items a year. What should you keep and what should you throw away?

Attention, New Subscribers:
Each subscribing credit union has a different policy about its Web site and what access it wants members to have to other sites from the credit union site. For example, in an article about car-buying resources, there may be links to sites that offer or link to offers of vehicle loans. An article about retirement savings may provide links to mutual fund sites, for example, that may accept or invite deposits. Some credit unions don't mind the connection. Other credit unions prefer not to provide links to commercial sites. This is a decision for management at each credit union to make. The database registration system gives you the option to turn off all external links or retain all external links at any time.

CUNA offers hot links to other World Wide Web sites from the Home & Family Finance Resource Center as a service to subscribers. CUNA does not endorse, approve, or control these external Internet Web sites (or any specific commercial product or service their pages mention), or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, efficacy, timeliness, or correct sequencing of information their pages contain.

CUNA does not endorse any provider of home page customization services. Any vendor statement implying such an endorsement is in error.
