Executive Management Team

Mark R. Condon

Mark Condon is senior vice president of research and advisory services for the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and serves on the association’s executive management team.

Currently, he oversees and directs a full range of research, consulting, publishing, and information services. Among these are Credit Union Magazine, several newsletters for credit union staff and volunteers, CUNA’s highly- respected and popular Environmental Scan, and CU360, CUNA’s online research and advice portal.

He also supervises CUNA’s Center for Personal Finance, which produces a wide range of member education products and services, including a number of personal-finance content and tools for credit union Web sites. Appointed as a member of CUNA’s Financial Literacy Task Force, he helped develop financial literacy guidelines and resources for the Credit Union System and promote the importance of financial literacy to credit unions, their members, and their communities.

Condon joined CUNA in 1977 as an editor of Credit Union Magazine and became the director of sales and marketing for the publication’s group in 1987.

In 1990, Condon was hired as assistant vice president of marketing for CUNA Service Group, where he managed the national marketing program. In 1992, he was promoted to vice president of publications, and CUNA's Web services group was put under his direction in 1997. He was promoted to senior vice president of Association Services in 1999, and was tapped to lead CUNA's new research and advisory services division in 2002.

Prior to joining CUNA, he managed two award-winning community newspapers and also worked as a sports writer and columnist.

Condon has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He and his wife, Mary Lou, live in Madison and have two grown sons.
