The GAC kicks off with an exhibit hall opening reception and concert on Sunday, March 18. Thursday, March 22, Capitol Hill visits continue and the conference adjourns.

LEAGUE HOUSING

A number of state credit union leagues have obtained housing blocks for use by their credit unions. Affiliated credit unions from the following states should download the League Housing Information and contact their league representative directly. Rooms are not guaranteed and are based on availability.

INDIVIDUAL HOUSING

Credit unions from all states that do not have a housing room block should contact the Housing Bureau to book rooms via web, phone, or fax.

  2. Call 800-974-3084 Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. EST
  3. Fax 847-996-5401 to reserve your room via fax

A $275 per room deposit, payable by major credit card, is required for ALL reservations at the time of booking. Your credit card will be charged and the room confirmation will come directly via e-mail from the Housing Bureau. A limit of 10 room reservations per call or online order will apply.

When making reservations, please be ready with the following information

  1. Name of conference: CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference
  2. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices of hotels
  3. Arrival and departure dates
  4. Number of rooms required
  5. Type of room/s needed: single or double
  6. Number of persons staying in room
  7. Names of all occupants in room
  8. Arrival time
  9. Credit card type, name on credit card, number, and expiration date
  10. Address of each person
  11. Telephone number of each person
  12. Fax number of each person
  13. E-mail address for each person (required for confirmations)

FEDERAL TAX EXEMPTION

In order for federal credit unions to qualify for tax exemption from state and local taxes assessed to room charges, final payment must be made by check, share draft, or credit card issued by a federal credit union.

Payments made by personal check, personal share draft, or personal credit card will not qualify for the exemption. Both forms (DC specific and NCUA form) must be presented upon hotel check-in by the attendee.
