Thank you very much for your letter of August 4 that included the recent article you wrote for The Hill, in which you forcefully defended maintaining the current tax-exempt status for credit unions.
More importantly, on behalf of CUNA and America’s 85 million credit union members, thank you for your unwavering support of credit unions in general over many years. We fondly remember your strong support in 1998, for example, during our major legislative effort that year; and we are appreciative of your leadership earlier this year in responding to FDIC Chairman Powell’s statements on the credit union tax-exempt status.
You can be assured that CUNA and credit unions will continue to be strong partners with you.
