Letters to CongressLetter to J. Dennis Hastert, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, regarding bankruptcy abuse reform legislationNovember 14, 2002 The Honorable Dennis Hastert Dear Mr. Speaker: On behalf of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and the 82 million credit union members across America, I commend you for arranging for a vote on the House floor today of the conference report for H.R. 333, the bankruptcy abuse reform act. CUNA strongly supports a yes vote on both the rule and the conference report. As you know from our many previous communications, passage of H.R. 333 is the number one legislative priority for credit unions and we view this bill as must pass legislation. In support of your efforts, our members have been conducting a sustained grassroots effort with their respective Representatives. I am confident that there are ample votes in the House for passage of the conference report. Thank you again for your dedication to passing this important legislation. Sincerely,
