On the road from the Philippines

News Now's Special Features section will publish a new on-the-road diary series--this time from the Philippines during the next few days.

Bruce Wheeler, CUNA's director of credit union development, will report in as credit union development educators from the U.S. visit with credit unions in the Philippines--part of the World Council of CUs Inc.'s People-to-People exchange project.

Wheeler joined Washington state development educators in Davao City in early November. He traveled with Mike Beall, WOCCU's People-to-People coordinator; Tricia Gates, president/CEO of MetroPacific Community CU in Renton, Wash.; Debbie Wege, instructional designer/training for Boeing Employees CU, Seattle, Wash.; and Bob Schumacher, vice president of Snohomish County PUD CU, Everett, Wash. Development educator Lois Kitsch, head of WOCCU's project there, served as the group's guide.
