GTE FCU reopens branch in St. Charles Parish
TAMPA, Fla. (10/20/05)--Nearly seven weeks after Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, GTE FCU reopened its branch in St. Charles Parish, Boutte, La., and began restoring member service to the area southwest of New Orleans.
The Boutte branch--which opened Oct. 12 with 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday service--is one of four GTE FCU branches in the New Orleans area.
Two others remain closed because they are in the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Katrina.
The downtown branch, located inside City Hall, reopened to municipal employees only Monday.
Ten of the 27 Louisiana employees have relocated to GTE FCU headquarters in Tampa, Fla., or other Florida branches.
