Mid-States Corp adopts New Orleans Firemen's FCU
WARRENVILLE, Ill. (10/31/05)--Mid-State Corporate FCU has adopted New Orleans Firemen's FCU to assist the credit union and its families displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
The Warrenville, Ill.-based corporate will make a $10,000 contribution to relief efforts and match staff contributions up to an additional $10,000. Funds will go directly to the credit union and its employees' families.
"Knowing that someone who does not even know you has taken it upon themselves to help is true proof that the people helping people' philosophy that we try to live by is alive and well today," said Judy DeLucca, CEO of the Metairie-based credit union.
Beyond financial assistance, Mid-States Corporate also is collecting canned good and nonperishable food items, donating laptop computers to the Louisiana Credit Union League and organizing a special "adopt the kids" Christmas project to make sure every child has his wish list fulfilled.
