CU helps replace hurricane-damaged trees
PASCAGOULA, Miss. (2/13/06)--A hurricane-damaged credit union is one of many Pascagoula, Miss., businesses donating money to purchase seedlings to be given away.
Keesler FCU, Biloxi, Miss., donated money to the Pascagoula Parks and Recreation Department to purchase the four- and five-foot pecan tree seedlings. They were distributed for free Friday (The Sun Herald Feb. 10).
The trees will help replace ones that were damaged or killed by the hurricanes in 2005.
The city also is planning to plant new live oaks near the Martin Luther King Causeway this summer.
