Set Future Forum calendar for June, not September

MADISON, Wis. (3/31/06)--The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Future Forum--which has made a name for itself as an innovative and creative educational conference--will meet several months earlier this year. The June 11-14 meeting date was set to facilitate the strategic planning needs of credit unions' representatives.

The new date also offers credit union professionals and their families time to explore and enjoy the Orlando, Fla.-vacation paradise. That is, when they are not attending the more than 35 educational workshops and seminars featured at the three-day conference.

Workshops and seminars are in nine separate learning tracks that focus on current credit union operational and policy issues and allow attendees to customize their learning experience. Among the tracks: leadership and management; volunteerism; lending; security and risk management; innovations; service to members of modest means and community charters; best practices; Credit Union Environmental Scan (E-scan); and membership growth.

New this year are the "deep dive" sessions, where participants can build on credit union hot topics discussed during keynote sessions-- serving members of modest means, and differentiating credit unions through non-traditional products offerings and the credit union philosophy.

Three optional "pre-conference learning labs" are designed to help professionals with: innovative team building, understanding and improving daily management responsibilities, and creating uncontested market space ripe for growth.

The "CEO/Executive Series"--an optional three-part series designed exclusively for CEOs and top-level credit union executives--offers in-depth looks at the major issues affecting credit unions.

Due to rave reviews for last year's inaugural appearance at the Future Forum, Dale Irvin will again serve as master of ceremonies at the conference, providing entertaining insights into the credit union world, as well as his reviews of the conference program.

This year's headquarters for the Future Forum, the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes, features an innovative 40,000-square-foot spa, a Greg Norman-designed championship golf course, and a convenient location to all of the top entertainment and recreation venues of central Florida.
