St. Mary's Bank in top 3 for first-time home loans
MANCHESTER, N.H. (12/6/06)--In October, St. Mary's Bank ranked third out of 49 New Hampshire lenders that serve first-time homebuyers through the New Hampshire Finance Authority.
The $612 million asset credit union typically ranks in the top 10 but notched its highest rating of three in October.
"To be among the top 10 means that these lenders are really taking the extra time with borrowers to help them settle into a loan and a home that they can safely afford," said Elizabeth Lamoureux, director of home ownership programs, New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority.
"Besides the extra time, this requires people with a huge heart," she added.
St. Mary's Bank in Manchester, N.H., is the nation's oldest credit union.
