A series of four cartoons produced by CUNA were distributed this week in anticipation of the August congressional recess. The emails ran in conjunction with Tuesday's street theater outside Capitol Hill office buildings.
CUNA yesterday also released a third video of the "banker" on Capitol Hill. Taking a satirical look at banker complaints about credit unions, actor Wes Johnson appeared at the Capitol South Metro stop in front of a "false front" of a bank. He presented banker "complaints" about credit unions for about two hours.
While the "banker" complained, other credit union advocates stood by to hand out lollipops affixed to cards which read: "Don't be Suckered: Please ignore our banker friend." Passersby were reminded to help credit unions "look out for the little guy."
