The mission of Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union is to help our members achieve financial success while maintaining the organizations financial stability.
Statement of Commitment to Members
As a member-owned financial cooperative, Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union (and its Divisions) is committed to our members. We will uphold our fundamental responsibility to actively serve people within our field of membership.
We will deliver a range of products and services that are compatible with the diverse economic and social makeup of our members and compliment their various life stages. We will explore initiatives that are sound in nature and will afford us an opportunity to serve the underserved in our field of membership. In all facets of operations, we will continue to demonstrate the value of membership in Anheuser- Busch Employees' Credit Union.
With member satisfaction as our number one goal we will continue on our path of total quality management. The Credit Unions guiding principles include six key components: ethical activity, utmost confidentiality, respect for all members, commitment to excellence by continuous improvement, fact-based decision making and fair treatment of all people.
As stated in our mission statement, we will help members achieve financial success by offering sound and competitive products and will place high importance on consumer education and the teaching of financial thrift.
We will monitor and communicate our service to members in a meaningful way so that members, prospective members, legislators, regulators and the local and national community will understand and appreciate the uniqueness of member-owned financial cooperatives.
This Statement of Commitment to Members is consistent with credit union principles of Not for Profit, Not for Charity, But for Service and our philosophy of People Helping People. This statement supports good business practices that ensure the financial strength of our credit union to the benefit of our members.
Section I: Service to Members
Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union (ABECU) offers services designed to improve the economic and social well-being of all members from all socio-economic backgrounds and return financial value to all those who participate in our member-owned financial cooperative.
Current Service Programs that Help Improve the Economic and Social Well-being of Members:
- Silver Eagle Programs (members 55 of age and over)
- Junior Account Program (ages 1 to 12)
- Financial Youth Group Program (age 13 to 15)
- Young Adult Financial Program (age 16 to 19)
- Free Checking Account
- Certificates of Deposit
- Financial Planning
- A variety of credit products including Used Auto Loans, Share Pledged Loans, Disaster Relief Loans, Mortgage and Home Equity loans
- Savings Accounts
- Direct Deposit/Payroll Deduction
- Credit Life & Disability
- Long Term Preferred Care
- Answer Center Insurance & Financial Services
- Discount Brokerage
- Educational Seminars
- Surveys & focus groups
- Total Quality Plus Initiatives

- Proposed plan to serve members in a low income and under served community.
Section II: Member Education
Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union is committed to member and consumer financial education; in addition we are committed to educating members and consumers, alike, about credit union uniqueness, philosophy, and values.
Current Programs that Support Member Education and Advocacy:
- Home buying seminar
- Auto buying seminar
- Retirement seminars
- Consumer focused articles in publications and on web site
- Web site calculators & links that offer comparative information
- Resource brochures
- Full and fair disclosure on pricing
- Participate in local and national coop advertising programs designed to educate the public about the credit union difference
- Educational opportunities for youth and young adult members
- High school and college intern programs
- Information booths at participating employee groups
New Programs Planned for the Coming Year:
- Conduct Youth and Young Adult Discussion Groups
- Expand external member scholarship program and introduce internal member scholarship program
- Participate in school presentation opportunities
- Continue seminars to different segments of the membership
Section III: Involvement/Governance
Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union will endeavor to preserve credit union democratic principles, including demographic representation and volunteer participation in credit union activities.
Current Programs that Support Involvement/Governance:
- Management participation on local and national committees and advisory boards
- Conduct Annual Meeting attended by a large group of members
- Provide on-site training for Volunteers
- Make available educational and informational opportunities for Volunteers via workshops and conferences
- Encourage and support Volunteer participation in continuing education and award programs
- Provide the technology to Volunteers to keep them well-informed and connected
- Developed a Volunteer involvement committee
New Programs Planned for the Coming Year:
- Offering Volunteers a timely intranet connection to the Credit Union
- Develop small advisory groups of members to solicit feedback
Section IV: Diversity
Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union recognizes that value of demographic diversity in staff as well in volunteers, and will strive to bring people of diverse backgrounds and experience into leadership and other roles at the credit union.
Current Programs that Promote Diversity:
- Cultivate hiring and promotion environment that leads to diversity and opportunities for all employees
- Participate in high school internship program
- Offer services that are available in Spanish to serve the Hispanic segment of the membership
- Recruit Volunteers from other participating employee groups.
- Offer diversity training sessions to employees and Volunteers.
Section V: Commitment to the Credit Union Movement and other Cooperative Activities
Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union will work to build and strengthen our unique credit union movement by providing financial and in- kind resources to others within the credit union and in other appropriate public forums. In addition, the Credit Union will participate in local, state and national cooperative activities as appropriate, and will strive to build and strengthen relationships with other sectors of the national cooperative movement.
Current Activities that Support the Credit Union Movement:
- Participate in national and local coop image campaigns
- Participate in local and national shared branch network
- Periodically attend Chapter meetings
- Participate and attend credit union management and marketing round table meetings
- Play an active role in advisory boards, committees, and councils
- Participate in strategic alliances and partnerships
- Contribute to State PACs
- Participate in fundraiser events for credit unions and sponsor
Section VI: Public Service/Corporate Citizenship
Through direct financial support or other in-kind contributions to local organizations, and by participating in public service activities, Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union strives to be an active partner in our community. We recognize that practicing good Corporate Citizenship supports the Credit Union Philosophy of People Helping People; furthermore, it will help raise the overall level of social and economic well-being of those in our community, help to strengthen ties within the community, and better position us to reach out and serve as only credit unions can those people in greatest need of affordable financial services.
Community/FOM Groups Currently Receiving Financial or Other In-Kind Support (including the support given) and Current Public Service Activities:
- Active participation in supporting causes for Childrens Miracle Network
- Spirit of Giving Program (employee sponsored)
- Financial and gift donations to charities
- Participation in community school projects
- Provide materials to schools and Junior Achievement Program
- Local Old Newsboys Day participation
- Ad participation in minority directory
- Sponsor CU Day at the Ball park
- Allow staff time to actively participate in volunteer efforts

- Active participation in community that is in close proximity to Main Office
