MADISON, WI – CUNA’s Center for Professional Development is proud to announce another group of credit union professionals who have received their certification through RegTraC – CUNA’s Regulatory Training and Certification program.
These individuals—including the first to earn their certifications through Level 1--earned their certification by successfully passing the exams for the five training modules in their level of study.
The first three Level 1 Compliance Achievement Awards issued in the RegTraC program have been awarded to:
- Fredda Brown, Florida State University Credit Union, Tallahassee, Florida.
- Marcos Freeman, Navy Army Federal Credit Union, Corpus Christi, Texas.
- Deborah Hofmann, Great River Federal Credit Union, St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Level 2 Compliance Expert Certificates and designation as a CUCE (Credit Union Compliance Expert) have been awarded to:
- Nara Hartmann, CUCE, Mission Federal Credit Union, San Diego, California.
- Amanda Phillips, CUCE, INCO Federal Credit Union, Huntington, West Virginia.
- Janet Piersall, CCUE, CUCE, Tinker Federal Credit Union, Tinker AFB in Oklahoma.
- Cheryl Volden, CUCE, State Capitol Credit Union, Madison, Wisconsin.
RegTraC provides compliance-training curriculum for credit union staff through two levels of study. The Level 1 Compliance Achievement Award is aimed at noncompliance staff. The Level 2 Compliance Expert Certificate is designed for compliance professionals and anyone wanting to explore the details of regulations. This combination of programs provides both challenges and relevancy in regulatory information to everyone at the credit union.
The initial certification is good for three years. To renew their certification, students must have accumulated a specified number of continuing compliance education hours through CUNA (such as Regulatory Compliance School and Specialized Compliance Institutes), their state league, and/or other providers of compliance education and pass a recertification exam.
For more information on RegTraC, contact Jan Vogel, CUNA’s manager of Compliance Education, at 1-800-356-9655, ext. 4069.
