MADISON, WI – Industry experts say offering loans online is no longer a competitive advantage but a business

necessity for credit unions intending to survive in the new millennium. This poses a strategic challenge for credit

unions that must compete with larger financial service providers head-to-head.

CUNA’s Center for Professional Development’s Electronic Lending School, set for April 22-26, 2001 in Palm

Springs, California, is designed to provide the information and savvy necessary to meet these new online challenges.

Credit Union professionals are being asked to develop web-based strategies, select appropriate technologies and

provide their members with the ability to access services anytime, any place. Electronic Lending School was

created to teach busy executives and their staff the essentials of what electronic lending is all about. Some of the

topics that will be covered in this school are:

  • Essentials in New Technology
  • Wow!-ing Your Members on the Web
  • The E-Consumer: Profiles and Potential
  • Regulatory Issues, Confidentiality and Security in E-Lending
  • The Human Side of E-Lending; Impact on Staff Culture and Member Relations
  • Advances in Automated Credit Scoring and Underwriting

Speakers at this school will include:

Randy Harrington of Extreme Arts & Sciences, Inc., a consulting group focused on tactical knowledge management solutions for financial and service industries.

Rory Rowland, a business consultant and dynamic seminar leader specializing in programs on lending, technology, leadership and communication skills.

Brett Christensen, Chief Sales Officer for APPRO Systems and former VP of Clark County CU in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mary Lou Heighes, President of Compliance Plus, Inc. which provides compliance, training and consulting services to credit unions.

Attend Electronic Lending School, and you’ll get the help you need to focus your efforts to maximize your credit union’s online lending potential!
