MADISON, WI – As credit unions continue their competitive struggle with large, profit-based financial
institutions, their bond with members must remain strong. In lending, this means members must be confident that
they will be treated more than fairly when they approach their credit union for a loan. How do your members
respond to your credit union’s lending process?
CUNA’s Center for Professional Development’s Consumer Lending Schools, Parts I, II and III, provide a
progressive, comprehensive learning experience for loan staff. Part I focuses on developing member relationships
through lending; Part II concentrates on the overall operation of the lending department; and Part III examines
how the loan department can work with other areas in the credit union. Graduates of all three schools receive a
special series certificate acknowledging their advanced training in lending.
Part I, Consumer Lending Foundations, will cover:
- Consumer Regulations
- Loan Policy & Decisions
- Loan Communications
- Prevent Collections & Bankruptcy
Part II, Consumer Lending Management, will cover:
- Loan Department Management
- Regulatory Compliance Update
- Fraud & Security Issues
- Managing Time & Stress in your Lending Department
- Part III, Consumer Lending Strategic Development, will cover:
- Strategic Leadership for Lenders
- Asset/Liability Management for Lenders
- Loan Marketing
- Integrating Lending with Technology
Opportunities to build a relationship with members exist at every stage of the lending process. Learn to
capitalize on these opportunities at CUNA’s Consumer Lending Schools.
