CU Finance for Non-Financials Offered in October

MADISON, WI — CUNA’s Center for Professional Development is offering Credit Union Finance for Non- Financial Managers and Volunteers, Parts I, II and III, in October at the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida.

Part I: Basics of Accounting & Finance is offered October 15 – 17. This program is designed for volunteers and credit union professionals with little or no accounting/finance background, or those who wish to start at a slower pace. It provides the background in accounting, finance, and credit union operations that participants need for the accelerated pace of instruction in Part II.

Part II: Financial Analysis is offered October 18 – 20. This program is designed for those who have a basic understanding of accounting terms and practices, and are familiar with balance sheets, income statements, and the 5300 report. It moves at a quicker pace than Part I.

Part III: ALM & Strategic Planning is offered October 22 – 24. The program is designed for participants with a good working knowledge of credit union finance and operations who able to read financial statements and reports. This session will be very interactive, with group discussions and practical financial information that is useful to volunteers and managers.

Financial management affects every aspect of the credit union – services, membership, staff and compliance with regulations. The three-part Credit Union Finance schools provide the knowledge you need to better understand your credit union’s financial picture.
