MADISON, WIS. -- Busy credit union professionals will now be able to quickly access important issues by way of color-coded sections starting with the January issue of Credit Union Magazine.
Guided by a recent readership survey, the magazine's staff worked with Silver Spring, Md.-based AURAS Design and its president, Rob Sugar, to redesign the magazine's contents and graphics in line with subscribers' needs.
Color-coded sections allow for easier navigation throughout the magazine's redesigned sections:
- Leading Edge - leadership ideas and inspiration, including personality profiles of industry movers and shakers, credit union roundtable discussions, and stories of credit unions' community initiatives;
- Feature Well - increased feature coverage;
- Twenty-four/Seven - operations, trends, and solutions, including expanded compliance coverage; and
- System Scan - credit union system initiatives, services, and education.
The January magazine also introduces its online presence, creditunionmagazine.com. The site is an adjunct to the print magazine, featuring expanded coverage of select magazine articles along with Web-exclusive reports, case studies, surveys, guest columns, and product information. The magazine will highlight the Web site's monthly features.
"Because our subscribers are busy professionals, they need their news quickly," said Kathryn Kuehn, editor of Credit Union Magazine. "Our readership survey revealed what credit union topics are most important to subscribers. It also gave us great insight on how to organize content for a quick and easy read."
The magazine will cover many topics, including credit union operations, management, lending, operations, compliance, human resources, marketing, technology, and volunteer issues.
A bit of good-natured humor has also been added with "Branching Out," by James Collins, chief financial officer of O Bee Credit Union in Tumwater, Wash. The column will take a satirical look at common credit union issues.
