Dan Mica Appears in Children's Miracle Network Documentary
April 26, 2001
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Credit Union National Association (CUNA) President Dan Mica appears with Washington area
credit union leaders in the Children’s Miracle Network documentary "Children’s Miracle Champions," which will be
aired on about 200 national network stations across the country this summer.
Entertainer Marie Osmond narrates the documentary, focusing on the stories of four children who were helped by
their communities’ Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals.
In a 30-second segment during the documentary, Mica and representatives from several Washington area credit
unions talk about the benefits of credit union involvement with CMN. The segment was filmed at Children’s Hospital
in Washington, D.C.
Mica says, "Credit unions have a proud tradition of helping people, and this is true of our efforts to help
children at Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. Credit unions are where people are worth more than money--and our
efforts to help Children's Miracle Network demonstrate this value every day."
CUNA, leagues, and credit unions have partnered to raise money for CMN for five years. In fact, Osmond says,
"Credit Unions for Kids has become the second largest U.S. sponsor of CMN and has raised almost $15 million for
children's hospitals." CMN is a nonprofit organization that generates funds and awareness programs to benefit
children and 170 affiliated hospitals for children in the U.S. and Canada.
TV stations in the U.S. and Canada will broadcast the documentary between May 1 and August 31. Check your local
listings for time and station in your area.
