MADISON, WI – In response to the growing need for online privacy protection, particularly in the financial services industry, CUNA Network Services, Internet Security Systems (Nasdaq: ISSX) (ISS) and Concentric Security, Inc. (CSI) have signed a memorandum of intent to jointly bring e-security products and services to credit unions. Through this relationship, credit unions will have access to a total comprehensive e-security product and service offering that includes assessment, identification, remediation, maintenance, monitoring, and support of their e-security system.

“Credit unions and their members are very concerned about online security, but many don’t know what they can do to protect themselves,” says Doug Benzine, senior vice president of CUNA Network Services. “We wanted to be able to work with individual credit unions to design e- security solutions to meet their needs and budget, no matter how large or how small. We found that capability in ISS and CSI.”

Security remains one of the biggest obstacles to consumer adoption of online financial services. According to a consumer survey conducted earlier this year by TowerGroup, 37% of online households believe that it is unsafe to conduct financial transactions online.

“Our goal is to establish a long-term trusted relationship with credit unions so they can provide a safe and secure environment for their members’ financial transactions,” says Michael Dunbar, Vice President of Operations at CSI. “Every credit union member deserves to have his/her money and privacy protected by the highest level of security available. We strive to find a solution to meet every credit union’s e-security needs, regardless of budget.”

New NCUA guidelines, effective July 1, require that a credit union’s security program include features to ensure the safety and confidentiality of its members’ records, protect against anticipated threats or hazards to the security or integrity of such records, and protect against unauthorized access to or use of such records that could result in substantial harm or inconvenience to a member.

“ISS and CSI each bring unique aspects to this relationship,” adds Benzine. “ISS is a national provider with international capabilities whose core competency has always been security. CSI brings a wealth of security consulting knowledge with the ability to help credit unions of all sizes.”

Combining best of breed software products, market-leading managed security services, aggressive research and development, and comprehensive educational and

consulting services, Internet Security Systems is the trusted security provider for thousands of customers around the world. ISS is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
