MADISON, WI – John H. Harland Company (NYSE: JH) and CUNA & Affiliates have reached an agreement on a multi-year relationship making Harland the strategic alliance provider for share drafts/checks for credit unions.
As part of the four-year agreement, CUNA and participating state leagues will market Harland's share draft printing services to credit unions nationwide. The credit unions will also have access to the full breadth of Harland's products and services, which range from direct marketing to customer relationship management software and host processing applications designed specifically for credit unions.
"CUNA and Harland share a similar philosophy of creating high-performance credit unions," said Timothy C. Tuff, chairman and chief executive officer of Harland. "High performance means strengthening relationships with members, attracting new members and maximizing operational efficiencies. We're delighted to team with CUNA in this important endeavor."
Harland's long-standing relationship and commitment to credit unions is demonstrated by its involvement with the credit union industry. Harland created the Harland Credit Union Advisory Board (CUAB), which was created to better understand the specific issues and concerns facing credit unions today.
The CUAB is comprised of senior-level executives from credit unions of varying size and regions throughout the U.S., as well as credit union league executives and industry consultants. Harland uses the CUAB's input in several areas, including planning, product development, promotional production and service improvement.
"Harland has demonstrated not only that it understands the needs of credit unions but also that its product line is able to help credit unions meet the needs of their members," said Wes Millar, vice president of strategic alliances for CUNA.
Harland has a wide-range of credit union-specific products and services, including:
- ULTRADATA®, which integrates UNIX or Windows 2000 host processing for credit unions with powerful applications for lending, retail and branch operations, electronic banking and marketing to deliver the most up-to-date information for member service and sales functions.
- CuServTM - Low-cost, PC-based credit union host solution for over 300 smaller credit unions.
- TouchéTM - An enterprise-wide CRM system designed specifically for financial institutions. The system includes powerful contact management, sales tracking, referral management, problem resolution, campaign management, and schedule management features.
- Max$ellTM - MCIF software providing financial institutions with turnkey, enterprise-wide access, to all of account, individual, and household level data and can be integrated with a credit union's CRM system.
- The Harland Institute for High Performance Credit Union Knowledge, a computer-based educational program designed to provide credit union employees with the background and training they need to serve members more efficiently.
"No one else has the breadth of quality products and services that Harland offers," said Millar. "Couple that with their commitment to the credit union industry, and Harland was the natural choice for CUNA."
