Four ‘Community CUs Of The Year’ Recognized At CUNA Community CU Conference

MADISON, Wis. -- The 2009 Community Credit Union of the Year awards were announced on October 22 at the Credit Union National Association's Community Credit Union and Growth Conference in Las Vegas.
The awards recognize outstanding work being done by credit unions across the country. The four award-winning credit unions excel in the advancement of the ideals of the credit union movement, are active in their communities,
and provide a wide array of services that meet the needs of their diverse communities.
Winners in the $250-million-and-above asset category are:
- Elevations Credit Union, Boulder, Colo., received the Community
Credit Union of the Year award. Dennis Paul, associate vice president
of business and community development, accepted the award. - Shell Federal Credit Union, Deer Park, Texas, received the Award
of Merit. Angela Head, vice president of information systems, accepted
the award.
Recognized in the $250-million-and-below asset category are:
- Archer Cooperative Credit Union of Archer, Neb. received the
Community Credit Union of the Year Award. Shelly Broekemeier, vice
president of operations, accepted the award. - US Community Credit Union, Nashville, received the Award of
Merit. Credit union CEO Cheryl Thompson; Paul Johnson, executive
vice president; and Cindy Bubin, senior vice president, accepted
the award.
The next Community Credit Union & Growth Conference is scheduled for Oct. 6-9, 2010, in Boston.
