MADISON, Wis. – Credit unions will continue to have access to Internet-based business continuity planning software and consulting services through the renewed strategic alliance between CUNA Strategic Services and Strohl Systems.

Through this renewed agreement, PLANet will be marketed, endorsed, and recommended to credit unions, along with the following Strohl Systems consulting services: plan development, plan testing, plan evaluation, plan conversion, facility evaluation, and recovery readiness and review.

PLANet allows credit unions, which may have minimal resources or expertise to devote to business continuity planning (BCP), to build, maintain, and test plans quickly and easily. Additionally, it helps meet audit and regulatory requirements from the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) related to BCP and disaster recovery. Over 1,100 financial institutions, including more than 700 credit unions, use PLANet.

PLANet guides users through the planning process step by step to ensure compliance, providing detailed assistance for each task and progress tracking for overall plan construction. It also includes features such as the ability to have concurrent users and to create an unlimited number of plans, customizing the plans for various branch locations and regions as well as for different kinds of recovery efforts like emergency response, crisis management, IT recovery, and pandemic planning. Plans are securely built, transmitted, and stored on the Web and users can access their plans at any time, day or night.

“The strategic alliance with CUNA Strategic Services has allowed us to bring PLANet to a greater number of credit unions over the past three years,” said Eric Strohl, president of Strohl Systems. “These credit unions have been able to build comprehensive plans that have stood the test of disasters and auditors. We look forward to continuing this alliance well into the future.”

“Strohl Systems has continually provided excellent, affordable, and needed tools and services to credit unions,” said Wes Millar, senior vice president for CUNA Strategic Services. “Choosing to continue our relationship with them was an easy decision.”
