Credit Unions, National Journal, Convention officials & Homes for Our Troops will hold a ceremony launching project supporting wounded veterans.

A groundbreaking ceremony marking the launch of a new Denver-area home for a wounded veteran of the Iraq war, part of the “Homes for Our Troops” initiative and a project of the Democratic National Convention Committee in Denver, will be held Thursday April 10, 10:30 a.m., in Golden. Following are the details:

WHAT: Groundbreaking ceremony on site of future home to be presented to wounded Iraq war veteran SSG Travis Strong around the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

WHO: Brief remarks by Democratic National Convention Committee CEO Leah D. Daughtry, Homes for Our Troops Founder & President John Gonsalves, and national and state credit union officials.

NOTE: CUNA Chairman Tom Dorety and Credit Union Association of Colorado (CUAC) President and CEO John Dill will attend on behalf of their respective organizations.
