MADISON, WI – Spanish materials are now available to help credit unions promote the Plan it. Save 4 it. effort. A black & white quarter- page ad and text for a statement stuffer have been produced. Both are available free online.

“The 34 million person US Hispanic market has $380 billion in buying power, representing the 3rd highest ranking purchasing power of any group, yet about one-third of those consumers do not use financial institutions at all,” says Bill Crawley, director of Programs & Grants for the National Credit Union Foundation. “There is a tremendous opportunity here for us to reach out to this increasingly important, yet underserved group.”

The Plan it. Save 4 it. savings campaign is a two-year pilot among 3,000 randomly selected credit unions and is sponsored by the National Credit Union Foundation via a grant from the Ford Foundation. The effort is designed to help credit unions enhance their existing savings programs/services.

For more information on the new materials or questions about the Plan it. Save 4 it. campaign, contact Bill Crawley at 1-800-356-9655, ext. 7022, or visit www.ncuf.coop.
