Cry, Cunningham, Martinez and Willard Take Top Honors at 2001 NCUF Golf Classic

MADISON, WI – The National Credit Union Foundation held its 2001 Golf Classic Sunday, October 14, 2001 at the Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. Top finishers were:

  • First place – David Cry, CUNA Mutual Group, Madison, Wisconsin; Mary Cunningham, USA Federal Credit Union, San Diego, California; Brett Martinez, California Credit Union League Services, Rancho Cucamonga, California; Ron Willard, CUNA Mutual Group, Roseville, California


  • Second place – Andy Anderson, Travis Credit Union, Vacaville, California; Charles Dawes, Travis Credit Union, Vacaville, California; Mick Busch, CUNA Mutual Group, Rancho Cucamonga, California


  • Third place – Greg Covington, Harland Printed Products, Long Beach, California; Rob Greaff, Moore West Federal Credit Union, San Leandro, California; Todd Hagen, Harland Printed Products, Long Beach, California; Roger Somer, Peninsula Postal Credit Union, San Jose, California

"It was a real honor to have our golf tournament hosted by the California Credit Union League this year," says Pat Brownell, executive director of NCUF. "We had a great turnout and extend special thanks to everyone who participated in the success of the Golf Classic."

More than 100 golfers competed in this year’s event, which was held in conjunction with the California Credit Union League’s Annual Meeting. Funds raised support worldwide credit union development projects through the National Credit Union Foundation.

"We couldn't be more pleased with our experience with the California Credit Union League, says John Fiore, chairman of NCUF and president/CEO of Motorola Employees Credit Union, Schaumburg, IL.
