About This Event
Is your credit union prepared for the new privacy rules that go into effect on January 1, 2011? The rules presented are leaving credit unions with questions about how to comply. There's no need to panic! Join us for this webinar as we clarify the vague rules, walk you through sample forms and discuss their use and how they should be implemented.
You will also receive sample notices and checklists as takeaways from this webinar. These will provide you with the tools you need to comply with the new rules.
- This webinar will open with Regina Metz of NCUA to explain the background of the rules and how they were formed. She will also discuss why the NCUA hopes financial institutions will use the new form even though it's not mandatory.
- Next, attendees will hear from Andrea Stritzke of PolicyWorks as she discusses model forms, what forms to use, what information can be shared, when to send notices, what notice to send, when to switch to new forms, and more.

More Information
More about the January 1, 2011 Privacy Rules
The NCUA has issued a model privacy notice that will guarantee credit union compliance with the privacy notice requirements. Financial institutions including credit unions will still be able to issue their current privacy notices for one year after the effective date of the final version of this rule. However, after December 31, 2010 credit unions will have to use the model form if they want to guarantee compliance with these requirements.Who Should Attend
This webinar will be beneficial for compliance staff, management and/or anyone at your credit union needing this detailed compliance information — including, but not limited to managers, CEOs, directors, mortgage lending staff, consumer lending staff, and operations staff.
Affiliation with CUNA/League is required for attendance.
