Earn your Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) certification at the CUNA Certified Financial Counselor Schools!

Testing is provided for those pursuing their Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) certification. To achieve certification, you must successfully complete both Part 1 and Part 2 of the CUNA Certified Financial Counselor Schools and pass each qualifying exam. You may attend Parts 1 and 2 in any order and there are no prerequisites.

You may also receive your certification through FiCEP, a self-study financial counseling certification program. Learn more about FiCEP.

Introduction to Financial Counseling

Understand the basic components of financial counseling. This session provides an overview of the financial attitudes and behaviors that contribute to problems with spending, saving and debt.

Financial Counseling Essentials

Get the tools and knowledge needed to help change their financial practices and rebuild their financial future. You’ll also have the opportunity to dive into the details of your role as a credit union financial counselor.

Special Issues in Financial Counseling

Explore counseling case studies that will help you develop a framework for creating your own financial counseling program. You’ll also learn more about the legal rights of the member and his or her creditor.

Using Communication Skills During Financial Counseling

Ensure you and your member are on the same page. Learn how to communicate with your members so that they fully comprehend the valuable information you are giving them.

Who Should Attend

This program is designed for credit union staff working in financial counseling, collections or lending. Other staff that are committed to helping members gain control of their financial future would also benefit by attending this school.

Affiliation with CUNA/League is required for attendance.

Scholarships Now Available!

The CUNA Lending Council offers scholarships each year to eligible individuals. Each award will be for up to $2,500 and can be used toward expenses for CUNA Center for Professional Development (CPD) school tuition.

Cancellations

Cancellations received in writing (via fax 608-231-4327) before the end of business on June 3, 2012 are eligible for a refund of the amount paid minus a $200 administrative fee. No refunds will be granted for cancellation requests received after June 3, 2012. Substitutions are accepted anytime prior to the start of the program at no additional cost. Simply fax event and contact information, listing the new participant and who they will be replacing. Cancellation fees do not apply for free or complimentary programs.
