About This Event

If you're new to compliance or want a refresher course on the basics, start here! In this three session eSchool, you will build a solid understanding of the credit union laws and regulations that affect your operations. You will also gain a comprehensive overview of more than 25 important regulations.

Through this eSchool, you will:

  • Explore the major regulations from Regulation A-Z
  • Identify the regulations that impact your job and your credit union
  • Determine good basic regulatory information for all staff levels
  • Review regulations from an employee's day-to-day perspective and develop a better understanding, from a regulatory point of view, about "what we can or cannot say" to our members
  • Learn the potential consequences of "non-compliance"
  • Attain a better appreciation of the key role you play in the success of your credit union's compliance program

Through this session, you will get a basic overview of the regulations affecting credit union operations including:

  • Office of Foreign Assets Control
  • Preservation of Consumer's Claims & Defense Rules
  • Privacy Rules including Graham-Leach-Bliley
  • Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act
  • Servicemembers Civil Relief Act
  • Uniformed Services Employment & Reemployment Rights Act
  • Truth in Savings – NCUA Part 707
  • Uniform Commercial Code
  • Electronic Signature In Global & National Commerce Act

Who Should Attend

This eSchool is beneficial for compliance staff, management staff, directors, or any credit union staff person interested in an overview of the regulations affecting their credit union on a daily basis. Those planning to earn their Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) certification through the RegTraC program would also benefit from attending.

Affiliation with CUNA/League is required for attendance.

Instructors

Woody Hodgdon, CUCE, BSACS

Woody is the founder of W & D Adventures, LLC and Regulations A-Z & More. He has been a national compliance presenter for more than 17 years and recently retired from Addison Avenue Federal Credit Union after 28 years. Woody was most recently the national compliance manager at Addison Avenue and was located in their Loveland, Colorado branch. He spent three years as an agent for CUNA Mutual in northern Colorado prior to starting his management career with credit unions. Woody has been involved in credit union management, operations, marketing and compliance issues for more than 30 years and has also held jobs as interim credit union manager, vice president of operations, branch manager, marketing manager, collection & compliance manager and senior loan officer.


Cancellations

The last day for cancellations was February 22, 2010. Substitutions are accepted anytime prior to the start of the program at no additional cost. Simply fax event and contact information, listing the new participant and who they will be replacing. Cancellation fees do not apply for free or complimentary programs.
