Ken brings 37 years of financial institution management and professional consulting experience to Abound Resources, where he heads up the risk management practice. Ken has managed the risk management practice areas for two national consulting firms serving the credit union and community banking industries. He also served as a senior consultant with two international risk management consulting firms and held responsible management positions in the internal consulting and auditing departments of two regional financial institutions.
Kens broad experience includes completing risk assessments at over 500 credit unions and banks in the U.S., Latin America and Southeast Asia. Additionally, he has helped over 30 financial institutions manage compliance with regulatory enforcement actions, including consent agreements and written agreements, completed BSA/Anti-Money Laundering risk and compliance assessments, GLBA 501b information security reviews, Sarbanes-Oxley and FDICIA risk assessments and IT audits.
Ken is a certified public accountant and a certified bank auditor. He is a frequent speaker for financial institution industry conferences and seminars. He has managed workshops and delivered presentations to credit unions, banks and thrifts for regulatory authorities. For 10 years, Ken served on the faculty of the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking program, instructing in risk management. He has also authored numerous articles on risk management for various industry publications.
Kathleen Blanchard
Kathleen is a senior consultant with Abound Resources and has over 28 years consulting experience, including risk management and internal controls, compliance, lending, credit policy and procedures. She has served as BSA/AML/OFAC officer, privacy officer, compliance manager and risk manager.
Kathleen has extensive experience in BSA/AML audits and consulting, including BSA lookbacks, BSA program implementation. Her compliance experience includes extensive policy, procedure and loan documentation writing, and creation and implementation of complete compliance programs. She is a nationally recognized expert in CRA and HMDA and has also developed and implemented CRA and HMDA departments, credit scoring override monitoring systems, compliance training programs and compliance audit processes. Her credit background includes commercial and private banking lending, credit policy manager, workout loans and credit review. Kathleen also has experience with the development of member business lending policies and procedures, in conformity with NCUA regulatory guidelines.
