About This Event

Regulatory changes to credit union overdraft programs require new Truth-in-Savings and EFT disclosures and program modifications by July 1, 2010. Most programs will be affected. Join us for this audio conference and hear Bruce Jolly discuss how to measure your progress and that of your service providers. He will walk through a step-by-step review of the new requirements for opt-in and disclosures.

Through this audio conference, you will:
  • Review current Regulation DD disclosure requirements for credit union overdraft programs
  • Understand how these integrate with NCUA's rules
  • Explore the new disclosure requirements under Regulation E
  • Learn how to use the model forms
  • Discover if there are any alternatives to an "opt-in" program
  • Identify the differences in handling new and existing member accounts
  • Gain practical advice on managing an opt-in program
  • Identify when your program should go "live"

How many people from my credit union can call in?

Each registration provides call access for one phone line or person. While the audio conference can be listened to by several people at once (in a conference room, for example), the registered individual is the only person who will receive transcript credit for attending.

Instructors

Bruce Jolly
Bruce, a former CUNA Washington counsel, has been involved in legislative and regulatory changes affecting credit unions since the 1980s. He was actively involved in truth-in-lending reform, electronic fund transfer rule implementation and a host of other mission critical rules and regulations. He has been a fixture in compliance training for credit unions, written on compliance topics extensively and recently formed Reed & Jolly PLLC with David Reed to make their combined experience readily available across the United States. He serves as outside counsel to the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors and is admitted to the state bars of North Carolina, Virginia, the District of Columbia and Maryland. Bruce thinks the key to compliance training is to make the topic understandable using concrete examples of compliance concerns to illustrate the points being made.
