About This Event

When members make deposits they need to know when they will have access to the funds they just deposited. Through this audio, you will understand what Regulation CC is and why it exists. You will know how to determine the appropriate hold time for a check, exceptions available to extend hold times, and why a comprehensive check hold policy is important for your credit union to mitigate losses due to bad checks.

Instructors

Michael Carter, CUCE

Michael is the compliance education specialist for the New York State Credit Union League. He develops and conducts compliance webinars, provides compliance updates to member credit unions in online and in-person sessions, and trains credit union staff at local and national conferences. Michael also coordinates the league’s efforts in regulatory advocacy by soliciting opinion letters from appropriate regulatory agencies and submitting comment letters from credit unions. He also maintains InfoSight, the league’s online compliance system, which launched in February 2005. Prior to joining the league in 2001, Michael worked in various departments at Pioneer Savings Bank.

Cancellations

The last day for cancellations was November 9, 2009. Substitutions are accepted anytime prior to the start of the program at no additional cost. Simply fax event and contact information, listing the new participant and who they will be replacing. Cancellation fees do not apply for free or complimentary programs.
