2015 Review of Advocacy So Far
Posted May 29, 2015 by CUNA Advocacy

As May ends, and we welcome in the summer, it’s worthwhile to look at what CUNA’s advocacy department has been doing. To date CUNA has sent nearly 90 letters to Capitol Hill on credit union issues and nearly 20 letters to federal agencies like NCUA and CFPB. The year isn’t even half over, and we have testified twice already before receptive audiences in Committees in the House and the Senate on regulatory relief for credit unions. And to top it all off seven credit union supported bills have passed the House of Representatives already this congress including H.R. 601, the Eliminate Privacy Notice Confusion Act and a bill which would provide privately insured credit unions access to the Federal Home Loan Bank System which is H.R. 299, the Capital Access for Small Institutions Act. Keep reading the blog for more information on our letters and advocacy efforts!

Have you checked out CUNA’s legislative digest? CUNA’s Legislative Digest is a great resource for a quick summary of all the bills CUNA is following in the 114th Congress. It’s available for CUNA members on our website here
