Yesterday, the BCFP’s Ombudsman’s office released its 2018 annual report.  The report, which is required to be developed on an annual basis, summarizes initiatives undertaken by the office in fiscal year 2018.

In particular, the 2018 report highlights new internal and external engagement efforts as well as updates to ongoing projects and as well as pilot programs. The report also includes recommendations on specific topics studied by the office over the past year, including:

  • Submission of information for consumer complaints,
  • Legal disclaimers introducing Bureau webinars, and
  • How non-consumers contact the Bureau by phone.

The Ombudsman’s Office was established by the Dodd-Frank Act to assist in the resolution of individual and systemic process issues that consumers, financial entities, and other groups may have with the Bureau.
