CUNA Board Member Will Testify at Senate Banking Committee Hearing
Posted June 02, 2017 by CUNA Advocacy

On June 8, the Senate Banking Committee will hold a hearing titled “Fostering Economic Growth: The Role of Financial Institutions in Local Communities.” Dallas Bergl, CEO of INOVA FCU and CUNA Board Member, will be a witness at the hearing.

During his testimony, Bergl will highlight several goals that are part of CUNA’s bipartisan, pro-consumer Campaign for Common-Sense Regulation, including changes to the function and structure of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He will also address housing finance reform, modernizing the NCUA’s examination process and more.

Earlier this spring, CUNA and the Leagues sent a letter to Chairman Crapo (R-ID) and Ranking Member Brown (D-OH) of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs in response to the Committee’s hearing on fostering economic growth, held at the end of March, where they requested proposals to spur the economy.

CUNA looks forward to Mr. Bergl’s testimony and working with the Committee on behalf of America’s credit unions and their 110 million members.

The hearing will take place June 8 at 10 a.m. (ET) and will be streamed live on the Committee’s website.
