CUNA meets with the FCC on TCPA
Posted February 22, 2019 by CUNA Advocacy

Today, CUNA representatives will meet with staff from FCC Chairman Pai’s office to discuss the need to clarify the definition of an autodialer and modernize the TCPA.  Friday’s meeting will cap off a series of meetings this week between FCC staff, CUNA, and other industry groups on TCPA. CUNA has emphasized that confusion surrounding the law and the threat of litigation has discouraged many credit unions from contacting their members with important information about their accounts and has urged the FCC to release a definition of autodialer that properly excludes these informational communications from being subject to the statute’s restrictions. The FCC is expected to release a new interpretation that will hopefully add clarity to this key issue for credit unions.
