Comments to NCUA on Exam and Supervision Changes
Posted July 27, 2016 by CUNA Advocacy

The National Credit Union Administration continues to accept public comments on how the agency can improve their examination and supervision procedures and process.  In June, the NCUA set up a working group, the Exam Flexibility Initiative to study how the agency can improve its supervision process.  Although the NCUA will accept input on an ongoing basis, they would like credit unions and other stakeholders to submit comments by August 1 to “receive full consideration.”

CUNA has long been pushing the NCUA to improve its supervision process by adopting new technology to simplify information collected through call reports and by extending the exam cycle for credit unions.   CUNA will also provide detailed comments to NCUA soon on how the agency can improve call reports.  Comments can be sent to CUNA or the NCUA and NCUA has created a webpage to provide information about the initiative.
