NCUA Hearing Redux
Posted July 24, 2015 by Chandler Schuette

Thursday afternoon in the House Financial Services Committee, NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz testified at a hearing on NCUA's operation and budget.  Going into the hearing, we had done a lot of work to get Members to focus on concerns credit unions have regarding the agency's budget and operations and we were pleased with the focus the Members had on these issues.  We also appreciated the contributions that Members made on other key priorities like regulatory relief, member business lending, field of membership and supplemental capital.

The CU Journal, CU TodayCU Times and News Now all had comprehensive coverage of the hearing, but if you were not able to watch the hearing live, you can catch the webcast archive here.  In addition, one of CUNA's consultants prepared a summary of the hearing that covers in detail each statement and question.
