Senate Banking Committee Advances NCUA and FHFA Nominees

Earlier today, the Senate Banking Committee advanced nominees for the NCUA Board and the Federal Housing Finance Agency out of the Committee.

Dr. Mark Anthony Calabria, of Virginia, to be Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency: Passed by a vote of 13-12.

Mr. Todd M. Harper, of Virginia, to be a Member of the National Credit Union Administration Board: Passed by Voice Vote.

The Honorable Rodney Hood, of North Carolina, to be a Member of the National Credit Union Administration Board: Passed by Voice Vote.

“We thank the Senate Banking Committee for prompt consideration of these nominees and hope to see a vote on the Senate floor soon,” said Ryan Donovan, CUNA chief advocacy officer. “Credit unions look forward to working with a full, three-person NCUA board, and with the next phase of leadership at the FHFA.”

In the middle of February, CUNA wrote to the Committee prior to their nomination hearings.

Next step: these nominations will be considered on the Senate Floor at date to be determined.
