As credit union leagues gear up to advance credit union issues in 2016, GAPS in Kentucky, Mississippi, New Jersey, Tennessee and Virginia have a clear picture of who they will be advocating. With votes counted in Kentucky, Mississippi, New Jersey, Tennessee and Virginia, the parties controlling state legislatures remain unchanged as Republicans continue to control both chambers in 30 states, Democrats control both chambers in 11 states, and 8 states have divided legislatures. Gubernatorial elections were held in Mississippi and Kentucky and only Kentucky shifted parties with the election of Republican Matt Bevin while Governor Phil Bryant easily won reelection in Mississippi.
